Garrett Poortinga

Founder of Green Hat Media, Garrett is constantly intrigued by the world around him and the mind’s capacity for perception. During his master program at Indiana University, Garrett focused on better understanding the client relationship, which culminated in a three-tiered capstone project serving clients in three areas of media: Arts & Entertainment, Non-profit, and Commercial work. In addition to running Green Hat Media as primary photographer and video producer, Garrett loves to teach and learn, to travel with his wife, and to help make his local community of Bloomington Indiana a wonderful place to live!

James Vavrek

James graduated from Indiana University in 2016 with degrees in Telecommunications and Psychology. Working for both the local PBS station and the Kelley School of Business, James has extensive work experience in field and studio video production, photo and video editing, audio production, and client relations. James has worked on multiple weddings before meeting Garrett and forming Gold Iris Weddings.
